Your PC Workstation Does Not Start Correctly
Case 4 — Boot Process Fails
POST Test Sequence
and POST Error
Following the pre-boot checks, the POST (Power-On Self Test)
sequence is initiated. It should be noted that in some cases, a Beep and
Post Error can occur at the same time.
The following table shows the type of error message that could be
displayed on the MaxiLife status panel, and the action to take.
Error Message... Action to Take... Error Message.... Action to Take...
Check that the keyboard is
connected to its socket located on
the rear of the PC Workstation.
Also refer to page 26 for further
troubleshooting help.
If there is still a problem, replace the
keyboard.
Perform the following actions in this
order:
1 Press
F2 to enter the Setup
program, then
F9 to load the
default BIOS settings.
2 Clear the CMOS. Refer to page 37
for instructions.
3 Flash the latest version of the BIOS
by using the system recovery
procedure. Set switch 1 to the
DOWN position. Refer to page 36
for instructions.
4 Check that the processor is firmly
inserted in the processor socket.
1 Reboot PC Workstation, Press
F2 to enter the Setup program,
then
F9 to load the default BIOS
settings.
2 Clear the CMOS. Refer to page 37
for instructions.
3 If there is still a problem, replace
the battery located on the system
board. Details about the battery
and installation procedure are
described on page 34.
Check that the floppy disk
controller has been enabled in the
Advanced menu. Press F2 to
enter the Setup program.
Check that the floppy disk drive(s)
data and power cables are
correctly connected.
Also refer to page 27 for further
troubleshooting help.
If there is still a problem, replace the
system board.
