LAN Subsystem
The LAN subsystem consists of the following:
• Intel 82801GBM ICH7-M
• Realtek 8111D Gigabit Ethernet Controller for 10/100/1000 Mbits/sec Ethernet LAN
connectivity
• RJ-45 LAN connector with integrated status LEDs
Additional features of the LAN subsystem include:
• CSMA/CD protocol engine
• LAN connect interface that supports the ethernet controller
• PCI bus power management
⎯ Supports ACPI technology
⎯ Supports LAN wake capabilities
LAN drivers are available from Intel’s World Wide Web site at
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/.
LAN Status LEDs
Two LEDs are built into the RJ-45 LAN connector located on the back panel (see
Figure 2). These LEDs indicate the operating states of the LAN.
Figure 2. LAN Status LEDs
Table 3 describes the LED states when the board is powered up and the LAN
subsystem is operating.
Table 3. LAN Status LEDs
LED LED Color LED State Indicates
N/A Off LAN link is not established.
On (steady state) LAN link is established.
Link (A)
Green
Blinking LAN activity is occurring.
N/A Off 10 Mbits/s data rate is selected.
Green On (steady state) 100 Mbits/s data rate is selected.
Speed (B)
Yellow On (steady state) 1000 Mbits/s data rate is selected.
