For disposing of data on the solid-state drive, Lenovo provides the Secure Data Disposal tool. To download
the tool, go to: http://www.lenovo.com/support .
Note: Running either program will take a couple of hours.
If a solid-state drive equipped with encryption features is supported and installed in your computer, you
can logically dispose of all the data on the drive in a very short time by erasing the cryptographic key. The
data encrypted with the old key is not physically erased but remains on the drive; however, it cannot be
decrypted without the old key. This feature is enabled by ThinkPad Setup Menu Extension Utility and is
available as a menu item in ThinkPad Setup.
Using rewalls
If your system is preinstalled with a rewall program, it protects against computer Internet security threats,
unauthorized accesses, intrusions, and Internet attacks. It also protects your privacy.
For more information about how to use the rewall program, refer to the help information system that
comes with the program.
Protecting data against viruses

Lenovo provides a full version of antivirus software on your computer with a free 30-day subscription. After
30 days, you must renew the license to continue receiving the antivirus software updates.
