6. Insert the optical drive into the optical drive bay, and then press it rmly into the connector.
7. Reinstall the screw and tighten it.
8. Reinstall the battery and turn the computer over again. Then reconnect the ac power adapter and
all cables.
Replacing optical drive for ThinkPad L430 models
An optical drive is preinstalled in the bay. To replace it, do the following:
1. Turn off the computer, then disconnect the ac power adapter and all cables from the computer. Wait for
three to ve minutes to let the computer cool before you start the following procedures.
2. Remove the battery. See “Replacing the battery” on page 69.
3. Close the computer display, and turn the computer over.
