TheWEEEdirectiveplacesanobligationonEU‐basedmanufacturers,distributors,retailersandimportersto
take‐backelectronics productsattheendoftheirusefullife.AsisterDirective,ROHS(RestrictionofHazardous
Substances)complementstheWEEEDirectivebybanningthepresenceofspecifichazardoussubstancesinthe
productsatthe
designphase.TheWEEEDirectivecoversallMulti‐Techproductsimportedinto theEUasof
August13,2005.EU‐basedmanufacturers,distributors,retailersandimportersareobligedtofinancethecosts
ofrecoveryfrommunicipalcollectionpoints, reuse,andrecyclingofspecifiedpercentagespertheWEEE
requirements.
Instructionsfor
DisposalofWEEEbyUsersintheEuropeanUnion
Thesymbolshownbelowisontheproductoronitspackaging,whichindicatesthatthisproductmustnotbe
disposedofwithotherwaste.Instead,itistheuser’sresponsibilitytodisposeoftheirwasteequipmentby
handingitoverto
adesignatedcollectionpointfortherecyclingofwasteelectricalandelectronicequipment.
Theseparatecollectionandrecyclingofyourwasteequipmentatthetimeofdisposalwillhelptoconserve
naturalresourcesandensurethatitisrecycledinamannerthatprotectshumanhealthandtheenvironment.
