AuthorizedUserNameandPasswordforSIP
ToenabletheRegistrationOptionsontheAdd/EditInboundPhoneBook,activateUseSIPProxyOptiononthe
CallSignaling,SIPParametersWindow.ThenaddtheIPaddressforthePrimaryProxyintheSIPProxy
Parameters.ThisallowsyoutoaddaUsername
andPasswordtotheInboundPhoneBookentry.The–SSmodels
onlyhaveapasswordoptionavailable .
ThisfeatureisusedwhentheMultiVOIPregisterswiththeproxiesthatsupportauthorizationandneedthe
username,passwordandtheendpointnametobeunique.
TheVOIPsendsRegisterrequesttoRegistrar
foreachentrywithitsconfiguredUsernameandPassword.When
Authenticationisenabledfortheendpoint,thentheregistrar/proxysends“401Unauthorized/407Proxy
AuthenticationRequired”responsewhenitreceivesaREGISTER/INVITEreques t.Now,theendpointhastosend
theauthenticationdetailsintheAuthorizationheader.Inthisheaderoneof
thefieldsis“username”.
GenerallyproxiesacceptrequestsevenifbothEndpointNameandUsernamearesame.Butsomeproxies
expectthattheEndpointNameandUsernameshouldbedifferent.
Tosupporttheseproxies,wehavetheusernameandpasswordconfigurationforeveryinboundphonebook
entrywhichgetsregisteredwith
aproxy.
Iftheusernameandpasswordarenotconfiguredintheinboundphonebook,thentheregistrationhappens
withthedefaultusernameandpasswordthatareconfiguredintheSIPCallSignalingPage.

AfteryoucompleteOutb oundandInboundPhonebookentries,clickSaveSetuptosaveyourconfiguration.You
canchangetheconfigurationlater,ifdesired.
YoumustcompletetheinitialMultiVOIPsetup locallyorbyusingthebuilt‐inRemoteConfiguration/Command
ModemusingtheMultiVOIPprogram.Afterinitialconfiguration,youcanconfigure,re
‐configureandupdateall
theMultiVOIPunitsintheVOIPsystemfromonelocation.Todoso,usetheMultiVOIPwebinterfacesoftware
programortheMultiVOIPprogramwiththebuilt‐inmodem.
