C. Packet Filter
The Packet Filters screen (see Figure 14) allows you to block specific users from accessing the Internet and
you can also disable specific Internet services. There are three different types of filters that may be applied
(MAC Address of the network interface card, IP Address single or range, or TCP/UDP Port). Each filter
can be set to filter (drop) or forward (pass) packets. You can program up to 24 total filters.
Network Adapter Address Filter Filter (block) or forward (pass) info from/to local
computer’s network adapter MAC address (also
known as the adapter card’s Physical Address).
IP Address Filter Filter/forward using computer’s IP address.
Single/Range You can filter/forward a single IP, or a range of the
IP addresses.
IP Range Enter the Start and End IP addresses for a range of
IP addresses to filter/forward.
Direction ~From Local IP ~To Remote IP Filtering IP address of a local computer; or filtering
IP address of a remote server (this remote server
connects to the device via Internet).
