Fax – sending (cont.)
Problem
●
The glass or rollers are dirty. Clean them (p. 63).
●
Use the overseas transmission mode (p. 38).
●
Add two pauses at the end of the telephone number (p. 26).
●
Dial the number manually.
Cause & Remedy
The other party complains that
dirty patterns or black lines
appear on their received
document.
I cannot make an international
fax call.
Fax – receiving
Problem
●
The telephone line cord is connected to the EXT jack on
the unit. Connect to the LINE jack (p. 18).
●
The receive mode is set to the TEL mode. Set to the FAX
ONLY or TEL/FAX mode.
●
The time taken to answer the call is too long. Decrease
the number of rings (p. 44, 51).
●
The incoming call is not a fax. Change the receive mode
to the TEL mode.
●
The sender transmitted a faint document. Ask them to
transmit a clearer copy of the document.
●
The thermal head is dirty. Clean it (p. 63).
●
The recording paper roll is installed incorrectly. Make sure
that the shiny side of the paper is facing down and
re-install the paper (p. 17).
Cause & Remedy
I cannot receive documents.
I cannot receive documents
automatically.
The display shows
“CONNECTING.....” but faxes are
not received.
The recording image is faint.
The received document is blank.
Receive mode
Problem
●
If you want to set the FAX ONLY or TEL/FAX mode:
— Select the desired mode using feature #77 (p. 50), and
— Press repeatedly until the desired
mode is displayed.
●
If you want to set the TEL mode:
— Press repeatedly until the TEL
mode is displayed.
