Selecting a Management Interface
Select one of the following management interfaces:
H Asynchronous terminal interface – Over the T1 access unit’s COM port for
local configuration and control when the system does not include an NMS.
An asynchronous terminal interface is also required for initial setup that
enables external management.
H Telnet access to an asynchronous terminal interface – Over the T1 access
unit’s COM port, through the ESF Facility Data Link (FDL), via an associated
EDL (EDL) or Direct Data Link (DDL).
H SNMP – SNMP manager(s) using the SNMP protocol to configure and
control the unit using standard MIBs and enterprise-specific MIB extensions.
