3–20 Configuring the Printer
Press the UP or DOWN
keys (YorB) to cycle through the values available for
that character at the cursor location. Press the NEXT key to move to the next
character to be modified. Press the PREV key to go back to a character you have
already modified. Continue until you have entered the name you want to give to
this configuration, then press ENTER to save. The name you entered will now
represent this configuration on the printer’s front panel. To exit this menu without
saving, press any key other than the ENTER key. The configuration name will
revert to the last saved value.
Reset Cfg Names
You can reset specific configuration names back to the default value of the
configuration number.

This ACTIVE EMULATION function allows the user to activate an emulation.
There are two ways to select the desired emulation: by selecting the emulation
directly from the printer menu or by sending a host command which change the
emulation automatically (see the appropriate
Programmer’s Reference Manual
for details).
The printer can contain more than one emulation at a time. These emulations are
mutually exclusive and only one can be active at a time. The menu above selects
the emulation to be active. The entries in this menu depend upon the options
installed in the printer.
