5. Configure the link rate on the Ethernet switches and routers. The router Gigabit Ethernet port and the
Ethernet switch port should have matching link rate and duplex mode, as specified in Table 3-1. If the
link rate and duplex mode are not set as specified inTable 3-1, then the end-to-end link will not be
stable.
