1. On the KVM Switch slide the Firmware Upgrade Recovery Switch (see “Firmware Upgrade
Recovery Switch” on page 5) to the Recover position.
2. Power off and restart the switch (see “Powering Off and Restarting” on page 12).
3. Proceed with the firmware upgrade (see “Performing the Upgrade” on page 30).
4. When the upgrade ends, power off the switch
5. Slide the Firmware Upgrade Recovery Switch back to the Normal position.
6. Power on the switch.
Note: If one of the child KVM units fails to upgrade successfully, unchain it from the
installation and perform the recovery and upgrade operation on it independently. After it has
been successfully upgraded, plug it back into the chain
Server Module firmware upgrade recovery
To perform an Server Module firmware upgrade recovery:
1. Unplug the Server Module from the computer it is connected to.
2. Slide the Firmware Upgrade Recovery Switch (located next to the RJ45 connector) to the
Recover position.
3. Plug the Server Module back into the computer.
4. From your KVM switch console, bring up the OSD (see “On Screen Display (OSD) Operation”
on page 13) and select the “F4: ADM” function.
5. Scroll down to FIRMWARE UPGRADE. Press
[ENTER].
6. Press
[Y] to invoke the Upgrade mode.
7. Proceed with the firmware upgrade (see “Performing the Upgrade” on page 30).
8. After the upgrade completes and the switch restarts, unplug the Server Module from the
computer and slide the Firmware Upgrade Recovery Switch back to the Normal position.
9. Plug the Server Module back into the computer.
