General Troubleshooting Tips
If you have problems setting up or using your BlackArmor server, follow these suggestions:
Ensure that the server is properly connected to your local network. Check that the
Ethernet cable(s) are connected and functioning properly.
Ensure that your network is functioning properly.
Ensure that the server is properly connected to a power source and turned on. Check that
all disk drives are functioning properly.
Ensure that your computer meets the BlackArmor system requirements. See System
Requirements for more information.
Ensure that your computer is running a supported Web browser. See System
Requirements for a list of supported browsers.
Ensure that you are logging in with the correct administrator user name and password.
(Remember that passwords are case-sensitive.)
Common Problems and Solutions
This section provides solutions to common problems that may occur in BlackArmor Manager.
I can’t connect to the server over the local network.
Check that the server is powered on and connected to the network. Ensure that you have used
LAN Port 1 to connect the server to the network.
I can’t connect to the server over the Web.
Check that the server has Global Access enabled. See Making BlackArmor Accessible Using
Seagate Global Access.
I can’t open BlackArmor Manager.
Check that the server is powered on and connected to the network. Run BlackArmor Discovery
and try to reconnect with the server and launch BlackArmor Manager.
