Installing a peripheral device with audio functions may call the
Windows

controller.
To deactivate the Windows
®
controller and delete the icon :
1 Select My Computer from the Start menu
2 Select Control Panel
3 Open Multimedia
4 In the Audio tab, uncheck the box Show volume control on Task Bar.
About the modem
My internal modem doesn’t work
Check that the phone line is plugged into your computer.
Check that the phone line is working. You can check the line by plugging in an
ordinary phone and listening for a dial tone.
Check that the phone number the program is dialing is correct.
In the Modems Properties dialog (Control Panel / Modems), check that your
modem is listed on the General tab, and that the Dialing Properties are correct.
If you connect a GSM phone, make sure that it is compatible with the internal
modem.
My Modem Cannot Establish a Connection
The modem dialing mode may be incompatible with your telephone line.

Guide.
