Check the volume of your speakers.
Clean the CD-ROM disc.
Moisture condensation may have occurred. Leave the computer for at least 1
hour while it is turned on.
I cant play a DVD-ROM disc
If a region code warning appears when you are using the DVD player, it could be
that the DVD-ROM disc you are trying to play is incompatible with the DVD-
ROM drive in your notebook computer. The region code is listed on the discs
packaging.
If you hear sound but cannot see video, your computers video resolution may be
set too high. For best results, change the resolution in Windows Control Panel/
Display/Settings to 800 x 600 using 8-bit color.
If you see video but cannot hear sound, check all of the following:
1 Make sure the mute setting is off in your DVD player.
2 Check the master volume setting in the audio Mixer. If you have connected
speakers externally, check the volume settings in your computer speakers and
check the connections between your speakers and the computer.
3 In the Device Manager, check that the DVD/CD-ROM drivers are installed
properly. To display the Device Manager, click Start, point to Settings and click
Control Panel. On the Hardware tab, click on the Device Manager... button.
A dirty or damaged disc may cause the computer to hangwhile it tries to read
the disc. If necessary, reboot the computer, remove the disc, and then check that it
is not dirty or damaged.
DVD Region Code Change
On your computer, the default DVD
region code is "2". Do not change
this setting using the region code
change function in Windows
®
2000, or using any other software
applications. System malfunctions
originating from the user changing
the DVD region code are beyond
the scope of your warranty and will
result in service charges for repair.
