2.4.2 Print Head Carriage Mechanism
This print head carriage mechanism consists mainly of the carriage, carriage motor, gear train, home position
detector, and timing detectors. When the carriage motor rotates, the drive shaft (cylindrical cam) is rotated by the
reduction gear. The print head supported by the carriage moves right and left. The print head position is determined
by timing signals generated by the timing detectors and the home position signal generated by the home position
detector.
