4 Replacement Procedures 4.26 CPU heat sink fan/CPU
Installing the CPU fin & CPU
The following describes the procedure for installing the CPU heat sink fan/CPU (See Figure
4-37 to 4-39).
1. Check that the mark of the cam is in the unlocking position.
2. Install the CPU to the correct position in the CPU socket.
3. Fix the CPU by rotating the cam 90 degrees to the clockwise with a flat-blade
screwdriver.
4. If there is already silicon grease on the CPU, clean it with a cloth.
Using a special applicator, apply silicon grease so that the CPU chip on the CPU is
completely covered.
NOTE: Apply the silicon grease enough to cover the chip surface using the special
applicator.

5. Connect the CPU fan cable to the connector CN8771 on the system board and install
the CPU heat sink fan to the slot.
6. Install the CPU holder and secure it with the following screws.
M2.0×4B BIND screw ×3
NOTE: When securing the CPU holder, be sure to secure the screws in the order of the
number marked on the holder.
