Vanguard 6455 Option Cards
Voice over IP Convergence Card
Description The Voice over IP (VoIP) Convergence Card, shown in Figure 2-37, is an optional
card for the Vanguard 6455. Coupled with DSP SIMM cards that mount to this
option card, the VoIP Convergence Card provides these features:
Supports 30 voice channels for the E1 card and 24 voice channels for the T1
card.
Supports 31 virtual data ports for the E1 card and 24 virtual data ports for the
T1 card.
Supports two DSP SIMM cards: a card with eight channels (two DSPs) and a
card with 16 channels (four DSPs).
- E1 version should use two, sixteen channel (four DSP) SIMM cards to use
its full E1 capability.
- T1 version should use one, eight channel (two DSP) SIMM card and one,
sixteen channel (four DSP) SIMM card to use its full T1 capability.
Supports any combination of voice and data.
Provides aggregated data traffic speed of 2.048 Mbps of data traffic flexibly
from 1 to 31 virtual data ports.
Note
Increased feature card performance for the Vanguard 6455 is available with
Release 6.2 and greater software.
Caution
Configure interface 4 and 6 for interface 5 and 7 to initialize. Always configure both
interfaces even if only the second interface on the card is used
.
