Upgrade using TCP/IP
Even if the TCP/IP protocol is disabled, the NPS 530/532 has a limited
FTP file transfer support to allow upgrading from a UNIX workstation.
Follow these steps to upgrade using FTP file transfer:
1. Create a file named upgrade containing the following lines:
(the software key values are examples only)
If you are upgrading for one protocol only, then omit the inappropri-
ate line.
2. Do a basic TCP/IP configuration as described in Section 6, and use
the arp method to set the Internet address.
3. Log in to the NPS 530/532. Command: ftp <host name>
Enter root as user id and pass as password.
4. Down-load the upgrade file. Command: put upgrade CONFIG
Notes: The protocol enable parameters TCP_ENB and ATLK_ENB will
automatically be set to YES when correct keys have been provided.
You can change these parameters later if you want to disable one or
both protocols.
If you enter an incorrect key the parameter will remain empty.
In order to prevent accidental loss of upgrade keys, it is not possible to
edit the key parameters further once the correct key has been entered.
