BASIC FAX USE
One Touch Dialling (For FAX-8070P Only)

Pick up the external telephone’s handset.

When you hear a dial tone, press the One Touch Dial key of the location you want to call. To
use One Touch dial numbers 5-8 hold down Shift and press the appropriate One Touch Dial key.

To hang up, replace the external telephone’s handset.
Speed Dialling

Pick up the external telephone’s handset.

When you hear a dial tone, press Search/Speed Dial, then press # and the two-digit Speed
Dial number. (See Storing Speed Dial Numbers, page 22.)

To hang up, replace the external telephone’s handset.
On Hook Dialling

Dial the number by using One Touch, Speed Dial, Search or dial pad.

The number you are dialling, or the name you have stored for One Touch or Speed Dial is
displayed on the LCD.

Press Fax Start.

Pick up the external telephone’s handset and press Tel when you hear the caller at other end
from the monitor speaker.
If you accidentally press Tel before lifting the external telephone’s handset, the call will be
disconnected.
Tone/Pulse
If you have pulse dialling service, but need to send tone signals (for telephone banking, for example),
follow the directions below. If you have touch tone service, you do not need this feature to send tone
signals.

Lift the external telephone’s handset and dial the number.

When you are asked to enter any number, press #. Any digits dialled after this sends tone signals.

When you hang up, the machine returns to pulse dialling service.
If you try to use a One Touch location with no number stored in it, you hear a
warning sound, and screen displays NOT ASSIGNED. The display returns to
normal after 2 seconds.
When you make a call by pressing Fax Start after dialling, you can listen to the
other end of the line from the monitor speaker, but they can’t hear you unless you
pick up the external telephone’s handset.
