Removing the Coin-Cell Battery

WARNING: The battery may explode if installed incorrectly. Replace the battery
only with the same or equivalent type. Discard used batteries according to the
manufacturer’s instructions.
CAUTION: Removing the coin-cell battery resets the BIOS settings to default. It is
recommended that you note the BIOS settings before removing the coin-cell
battery.
Prerequisites
1 Remove the back cover. See "Removing the Back Cover" on page 19.
2 Remove the system-board shield. See "Removing the System-Board Shield" on
page 31.
Procedure
1 Press the securing clip away from the coin-cell battery till the coin-cell battery
pops out.
2 Lift the coin-cell battery out of its socket.
