Section 4 - Conguration
Volume Encryption
Volume Encryption begins at the disk conguration level right after you nished selecting your RAID option. Below are the steps needed to complete
Volume Encryption.
Under Hard Drive Conguration, select the volume you wish
to encrypt. A warning message will appear noting that enabling
this option may impact the performance of the device.
Click Yes to continue.
Next, you will be prompted to congure the drive. Select Auto
Mount if you wish to mount the drive(s) automatically without
entering a password every time you reboot the DNS-345. If you
do not check the Auto Mount box, you will have to manually
mount the drive(s) by clicking the Mount button in the main
menu of the Volume Encryption table and enter the encryption
password after every reboot.
Enter the encryption password, enter it again to conrm and
then click Next to continue.
Note: Once you enable volume encryption, throughput will be much slower.
