4.7.2 Piping Connections to Liebert XDP or Liebert XDC
Piping Installation for Hard Piped System
The assembly and connection means for piping in the Liebert XD system are similar to those used for
conventional refrigeration systems. All piping should be installed with high-temperature brazed
joints. Soft solder is not recommended. During brazing, the lines must be filled with flowing dry nitro-
gen to prevent excessive oxidation and scale formation inside the piping. Prevailing good refrigeration
practices must be employed for piping supports, leak testing, dehydration and charging. Failure to
use good system practices may result in damage to the system. Refer to the ASHRAE refrigeration
handbook for general good-practice refrigeration piping.
Follow all guidelines in 3.13 - Liebert XD Piping System Design and 3.14 - Liebert XD Piping
Slope during installation.
