Finish the installation by completely tightening the screws in the same sequence.
4. Install the system board assembly (on page 30).
5. Install the chassis cover (on page 27).
6. Connect the power cord to the server.
7. Connect the power cord to the AC power source.
8. Press the Power On/Standby button.
The server exits standby mode and applies full power to the system. The system power LED changes
from amber to green.
Processor
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the drives and the
internal system components to cool before touching them.
CAUTION: To avoid damage to the processor and system board, only authorized personnel
should attempt to replace or install the processor in this server.
IMPORTANT: If installing a processor with a faster speed, update the system ROM before
installing the processor.
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 23).
2. Disconnect the power cord from the AC source.
3. Disconnect the power cord from the server.
4. Remove the chassis cover (on page 26).
5. Remove the system board assembly (on page 28).
6. Remove the heatsink ("Heatsink" on page 49).
CAUTION: To avoid damage to the processor, do not touch the bottom of the processor,
especially the contact area.
