Troubleshooting at the Network Layer
IP (Internet Protocol)
The HiSpeed switch supports IP (Internet Protocol), a widely used Network Layer
protocol used by devices to communicate across a network. IP utilizes a 32-bit
address structure to identify the network and node number. The three primary
classes of IP addresses are as follows:
Table 10-1. IP address classes
Class Range: Subnet Mask:
Class A 0 - 127 255.0.0.0
Class B 128 - 191 255.255.0.0
Class C 192 - 223 255.255.255.0
Note:
127.0.0.1 is reserved for loopback testing.
