10. KEY LOCK switch
The KEY LOCK switch
secures the PMD671 in its
present state during
Record, Playback or Stop.
KEY LOCK
Slide the switch to the right to turn KEY LOCK on.
"Locked" is displayed for three seconds.
Only these controls will work:
Display LIGHT button.
POWER switch - Works during Playback or Stop.
PRE REC switch.
If you try to operate a button or switch that is
locked, "Locked" appears briefly in the display.

11. CHARGE indicator
The CHARGE indicator is
lit when an optional Ni-Cd
or
Ni-MH battery is charging.

Pull the compartment door open to access the
CF card.

Card eject button
The Card eject button has two positions: click
out (a) and click in (b).
To eject a CF card:
1. If recording or in playback, push STOP
.
If other operations are in progress, cancel
them by pushing STOP
or wait for them to
complete.
2. Open the CF card door*.
3. Push and release the Card eject button so it is
in the click out position (a).
4. Push the Card eject button from the click out
position to the click in position (b).
*Opening the CF card door turns the PMD671 off. If recording
is in progress, opening the CF card door automatically stops
recording and writes critical track information to properly
close the file before turning off. Close the CF card door to re-
start the PMD671.
To insert a CF card:
1. Push and release the Card eject button so it is

Note: If the CF card door won't latch, check that the Card
