saveoninter‐officelongdistancetollcharges.MultiVOIPgatewaysconnectdire ctlytophones,faxmachines,key

PSTNlines,oraPBXtoprovidereal‐time,toll‐qualityvoiceconnectionstoanyofficeonyourVOIP
network.The–SSseriesmodelsonlysupporttheSIPprotocolthroughtheFXS/FXOinterfacewithSIP
survivabilityaswell.

eight‐channelunit.Alloftheseunitshavea10/100MbpsEthernetinterfaceandacommandportfor
configuration.TheMVP428isanexpansioncircuitcardforthefour‐channel
MVP410thatturnsitintoaneight‐
channelMVP810.
TheseMultiVOIPsinter‐operatewithatelephoneswitchorPBX,actingasaswitchingdevicethatdirectsvoice
andfaxcallsoveranIPnetwork.TheMultiVOIPshave“phonebooks,”directoriesthatdeterminetowhocalls
maybemadeandthesequencesthat
mustbeusedtocompletecallsthroughtheMultiVOIP .Thephonebooks
allowthephoneusertointeractwith theVOIPsystemjustastheywouldwithanordinaryPBXortelcoswitch.
Whenthephonebooksareset,specialdialingsequencesareminimizedoreliminatedaltogether.Oncethecall
destinationis
determined,thephonebooksettingsdeterminewhetherthedestination VOIPunitmuststripoff
oradddialingdigitstomak ethecallappearatitsdestinationtobealocalcall.
