The power management feature of the AGX700 enables the monitor to
recognize VESA DPMS (Display Power Management Signaling) signals
from an VESA DPMS video adapter and power down to less than 8 watts
of power consumption. A VESA DPMS compatible video adapter achieves
the signaling by setting horizontal, vertical, or both synchronization signals
to inactive. The AGX700 recognizes all four types of signals and enters
into the appropriate mode. In Standby, Suspend and Active Off modes,
t h e AGX700 still maintains a detection and CRT heater circuitry to ensure
fast recovery time when both synchronization signals are active again.
The power management feature of the AGX700 is comprised of four
stages: On (green), Standby (amber), Suspend (amber/green), and
Active Off (amber/green). In the Standby and Suspend modes, the high
voltage function of the monitor shuts down while the heater circuitry
remains active. In the Active Off mode, all circuitry in the monitor is shut
down except for a low power detection circuit. This circuit allows the
monitor to “wake up” when the mouse is moved or a key on the keyboard
is pressed.
