Simple Network Management Protocol
An application protocol that manages and
monitors network communications and
functions. It also controls the Management
Information Base (MIB).
Security Set
A set of up to three groups with no more
than one of each group type: ISL, Port, or
MS. The active security set defines the
device security for a switch.
SFP
Small Form-Factor Pluggable.
Small Form-Factor Pluggable
A transceiver device, smaller than a
GigaBit Interface Converter, that plugs into
the Fibre Channel port.

Voluntary Control Council for Interference
Voluntary Control Council for Interference
A consortium of Japanese electronics
industry associations that have estab-
lished voluntary standards for controlling
electromagnetic interference (EMI).
Worldwide Name (WWN)
A unique 64-bit address assigned to a
device by the device manufacturer.

A specification authored by a consortium
of companies to govern the development

modules.
Zone
A set of ports or devices grouped together
to control the exchange of information.
Zone Set
A set of zones grouped together. The
active zone set defines the zoning for a
