Fixing Problems
Note: The causes listed in the table below are probable causes only, and may not represent all of
the possible cases which may occur under actual operating conditions. If you experience a
problem which does not seem to fall under any of the cases listed in this table, or if you are
concerned about any other aspect of printer operation, contact an authorized service
representative.
Printing Problems
Problem Possible Cause and Remedy
• Your printer is not selected as a default printer. Select
Samsung 6050 PCL5e, Samsung 6050 PCLXL as the default
printer.
• The printer cover may be open. Make sure that all covers
are closed securely.
• The printer cable is not connected properly. Check the
connection.
• The printer cable is defective. Swap the cable with one
known to work. If printing is still not possible, replace the
cable.
• The port setting is incorrect. Check the Windows printer
settings to make sure that the print job is being sent to the
correct port (for example, LPT1)
• The print cartridge is not installed properly. Remove and
reinsert the print cartridge.
• A paper jam has occurred. Clear the paper jam. See page 5-2.
• The printer may be configured incorrectly. Check the
application to make sure that all print settings are correct.
•The printer driver may be incorrectly installed. Delete the
printer driver, and reinstall the printer driver. Try printing a
test page.
The printer does not print.
