Adding a memory module
To add a memory module, proceed as follows:
1 Shut down your computer and disconnect all peripheral devices.
2 Unplug the computer and remove the battery packs.
3 Wait until the computer cools down.
The inside of a notebook becomes extremely hot during operation. Wait at least one hour for the
computer to cool down before you remove the screws.
4 Unscrew the screw at the bottom of your computer.
Use a precision Phillips screwdriver that matches the size of the screw head.
5 Before you remove the module from its package, touch a metal part of the computer to discharge any
static electricity accumulated on your body.
6 Remove the module from its protective package.
7 Install the memory module by holding the module edge connector pointing down and the notch on the
right, and then insert it diagonally into an empty slot.
