5.1.2. Special commands for zones
[dd/ug] The creation and usage of zones in Solaris 10 is done by the following commands:
Command Description
zoneadm(1M) Administration of zones
(installation/uninstallation, booting/rebooting/halting, listing)
zonecfg(1M) Zone configuration
zlogin(1) Zone login from the global zone
-C
Connection to the zone console
zonename(1) Print the name of the current zone

With the following commands, administrative actions with respect to zones are possible:
Command Description
dladm(1M) Administration of data links
ifconfig(1M) zone <zonename>
assigns a virtual IP address to a zone
-zone
gives a virtual IP address back to the global zone
-Z
executes the command for all interfaces in the zone
ipcrm(1) -z <zonename)
deletes a message queue, a semaphore set or a shared memory ID of a zone
patchadd(1M) -G
installs a patch in the current zone only (caution!)
pkill(1) -z <zoneid>
applies pkill to processes in zone zoneid
pkgadd(1M) -G
installs a package in the current zone only (caution!)
pooladm(1M) Activation and deactivation of resource pools
poolbind(1M) -i zoneid <zonename>
binds all processes of the zone <id> or <zonename> to the resource pool
poolcfg(1M) Configuration of Ressource Management
prctl(1) -i zoneid <zonename>
Displaying and modification of resource controls of zone processes
priocntl(1) -i zoneid <zoneidlist>
Displaying and changing the scheduling parameters in a zone.
rctladm(1M) Displaying and modification of global settings for resource controls
renice(1) -i zoneid <zoneidlist>
modifies the priority of running processes in <zoneidlist>
