TABLE13 Connectivity Map- HL7 SFTSegment (Continued)
Name Description
Software Certied
Version orRelease
Number
The latest softwareversion number or release number forthe sending system,
which helps providea more complete prole of theapplication that is sending or
receiving HL7 messages.
Version numbers areimportant in identifying the specic releaseof an
application. Insome situations, the receiving application validatesthe software
certied version orrelease number against a list ofcertied versions or releases of
the particular software. This helps determine whether the sendingapplication
adheres to specicbusiness rules required by the receivingapplication.
Alternatively, the softwaremay perform dierent processing, depending onthe
version of thesending software.
This is thesecond eld in the HL7 SFTsegment (SFT-02).
Software Product Name The name ofthe software product that submitted thetransaction. The default
value is Sun TCP/IP HL7 adapter Intelligent Adapter.
This is thethird eld in the HL7 SFTsegment (SFT-03).
Software Binary ID The unique softwarebinary ID.Software binary IDs are issued bya vendor for
each unique softwareversion instance. These IDs are usedto dierentiate
between multiple versionsof the same software. Identical primary IDs indicate
that the softwareis identical at the binary level, but conguration settings may
dier.
This is thefourth eld in the HL7 SFTsegment (SFT-04).
Software Product
Information
Any additional informationabout the sending application for morecomplete
identication. This couldinclude a description of the softwareapplication,
conguration settings, modicationsmade to the software, and soon. This
information is usedfor diagnostic purposes and provides greaterexibility in
identifying the applicationsoftware.
This is thefth eld in the HL7 SFTsegment (SFT-05).
Software Install Date The date onwhich the submitting software was installedat the sending site. The
software installation dateon its own can often providekey information about the
behavior of theapplication.
This is thesixth eld in the HL7 SFTsegment (SFT-06).
Communication Control — TCP/IP HL7 V2 Inbound
Adapter
The following table lists and describes the properties that appears on the Communication
Control page of the Properties Editor accessed from the Connectivity Map. These properties
dene how data is transferred (that is, sent and received) over the TCP/IP connection.
