HL7 Acknowledgment — TCP/IP HL7 V2 Outbound
Adapter
The following table lists and describes the properties that appear on the HL7 Acknowledgment
page of the Properties Editor accessed from the Connectivity Map. These properties dene how
the application acknowledgment events are handled.
TABLE20 Connectivity Map- HL7 Acknowledgement
Name Description
AcknowledgmentLevel An indicator ofwhether the external application sends anAcknowledgement
after successfully receivinga message, or after the messagehas been successfully
committed to theapplication database. Select one of thefollowing options:
A Applicationacknowledgment. The acknowledgement is sentafter the
message is successfullyand functionally processed by one receivingsystem.
C Commit (accept) acknowledgment. The acknowledgement is sent when
the message issuccessfully received.
eGate Sends AppAcks An indicator ofwhether the outbound Collaboration is in outbound delayedACK
mode; that is,the outbound adapter connects to anexternal system that
communicates as aDelayed ACK receiver andsends two ACKsto the adapter.
Select one ofthe following options:
true Indicates that theadapter is expecting a Delayed ACK(two ACKS).
false Indicates that theadapter does not expect a DelayedACK.
ForwardExternal Acks An indicator ofwhether the HL7 application acknowledgment isforwarded to the
application server. Whenan HL7 application acknowledgment is received,it is
sometimes necessary toforward the contents of the HL7application
acknowledgment to theapplication server (as data). This propertyis used for
outbound Collaboration code.
Select true if theadapter forwards HL7 application acknowledgmentsfrom the
external system tothe application server for processing; otherwiseselect false.
Timeout For DelayedAck A number indicating the timeout valuefor delayed ACK in milliseconds. This
property is usedin the outbound Collaboration code.
