❑ If the disc is poor in quality, dirty or damaged, writing or rewriting errors may
occur. Be careful to check the disc for dirt or dama ge before you use it.
❑ The actual number of rewrites to CD-RW or DVD-RW/-RAM is affected by the
quality of the disc and the way it is used.
❑ There are two types of DVD-R: authoring and general use discs. Do not use
authoring discs. Only general use discs can be written to by a computer drive.
❑ You can use DVD-RAM discs that can be removed from a cartridge and DVD-
RAM discs designed without a cartridge. You cannot use a disc with a 2.6 GB
single-sided capacity or 5.2 GB double-sided capacity.
