Switching Temporarily to Tone Dialling
Many information services for banks, airline reservations, hotel reservations, etc., require tone dialling for their
services. If your machine is connected to a rotary pulse line, follow this procedure to set the machine temporarily
for tone dialling:

Press FAX to set to Fax mode.
Ex:

Pick up the handset of your telephone.

Enter a destination using the numeric keys on your telephone or using a one-touch speed
dialling key, coded speed dialling code, Redial/Pause key or the numeric keys on the
machine.

When the recorded message of the information service answers, press Function
→
Tone/+
to switch to tone dialling.
Ex:
• When Tone/+ is pressed, T is displayed in the LCD.
• If your telephone line uses tone dialling, go to the next step.

Use the numeric keys on the machine to enter the numbers requested by the information
service.
Ex:
• Numbers entered after pressing Tone/+ will be dialled using tone dialling.
• After pressing Tone/+, you can not use the numeric keys on the telephone. Use the numeric keys on the
machine.

If you want to receive faxes, press Start.

Hang up to disconnect the call.
• Tone dialling is cancelled when you disconnect the call.
