Basic LS2020 Configuration Tasks
Note For an LS2020 switch with two NPs, you must perform this procedure twice—once for each
NP. You must enter identical information for each NP. Do not reverse the active and secondary IP
addresses on thesecond NP; these addressesare assigned to theentire chassis, not to individual NPs.
If you do not enter the same information for both NPs, your LS2020 switch will not work.
The minimum network management information has not been configured!

Specify the host name for this network node.

You must allocate a subnetwork address for the internal network that connects all
network processors in your network. Configure the Chassis Primary (Active) IP address
for use within that subnet.

Configure the IP subnet mask for the internal network that connects all network
processors in your network.
Chassis Subnet Mask [a.b.c.d]: 255.255.255.0

Your system may be attached to an external Ethernet LAN by means of the on-board
Ethernet LAN interface on the network processor.
If the network processor is attached to an Ethernet LAN, you will be asked to provide
the IP address and IP subnet mask of the network processor’s on-board Ethernet LAN
interface.

Configure the IP address for the network processor’s Ethernet LAN interface.
