4.4.1 Solving the Problem
Much of the existing network configuration can remain as it was for Example 3, 1D Trunk
Connection to 802.1Q VLAN Network. However, Switch 3, Switch 5, and the devices that will
make up Publication’s Grey VLAN have been added.
Switch 5 will be configured to isolate all AppleTalk protocol frame traffic to the devices in the
Grey VLAN and all other protocol traffic to the Yellow VLAN. Switch 3 will link the traffic from
Switch 5 to the buildings network backbone.
