6.1 Setting IP addresses for remote communication
6.1.1 HMI IP address
To change the HMI IP address
1. For the HMI touchscreen computer, login to the Operating System as Administrator. See
Administrator access to the operating system
on page 61 for details.
2. Open the Control Panel, and then open the Network Connections dialog box.
3. Double-click the Local Area Connection 1.
4. In the TCP/IP Properties tab, set the new Local HMI IP address. Set the subnet mask to a
value compatible with the segment on which it resides.
By default the subnet mask is set to 255.255.255.0. The default touchscreen HMI IP address is
192.168.1.1 as delivered. The default IP address for each additional touchscreen HMI is
incremented by 1 in the right-most address.
6.1.2 CPU IP address
To change the CPU IP addresses
1. On the Main Menu, click User Settings.
2. Click HMI Preferences.
3. Click Communication.
4. Select either CPU A or CPU B by clicking the appropriate button.
5. Enter the new IP address. The IP address format is X.X.X.X where X is from 0 to 255.
