Fan louver
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 26).
2. Extend the server from the rack (on page 27).
3. Remove the access panel (on page 28).
4. Remove the fan ("Fan" on page 53).
5. Remove the fan louver.
CAUTION: Do not operate the server unless a fan louver is installed next to each fan. If all
louvers are not installed, the server overheats.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
I/O expansion board
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server
unless all expansion slots have either an expansion slot cover or an expansion board
installed.
IMPORTANT: When either optional I/O expansion board is installed in a two-processor
configuration, processor 2 and the I/O enabler must be installed.
1. Power down the server (on page 26).
2. Extend the server from the rack (on page 27).
3. Remove the access panel (on page 28).
