Insert the power supply into the power supply bay until it clicks into place.
4. Connect the power cord to the power supply.
5. Route the power cord. Use best practices when routing power cords and other cables.
For rack models, a cable management arm is available to help with routing. To obtain a cable
management arm, contact an HP authorized reseller.
6. Connect the power cord to the AC power source.
7. Be sure that the power supply LED is green.
Hot-plug SAS drive options
When adding drives to the server, observe the following general guidelines:
The system automatically sets all device numbers.
If only one drive is used, install it in the bay with the lowest device number ("SAS and SATA device
numbers" on page 15).
Drives should be the same capacity to provide the greatest storage space efficiency when drives are
grouped together into the same drive array.
Removing the drive blank
1. Do one of the following:
o For tower models, open and remove the bezel ("Remove the tower bezel" on page 20).
o For rack models, if installed, remove the security bezel (on page 22).
