Systems Management
Integrated System Management processor standard. Standard availability features include Automatic Server
Restart, Wake on LAN, Predictive Failure Analysis (PFA) on processors, memory, hard disk drives and blowers;
and error, temperature, voltage and blower speed monitoring. IBM Director software allows event management,
file transfer, inventory, process and resource management.
IBM Director is included with BladeCenter and each IBM eServer xSeries server. Additional licenses for IBM
Director client and server are made available for charge.
In addition, the optional IBM Director v4.1 Server Plus Pack, which is available separately, consists of five
additional enhanced, powerful, comprehensive tools for advanced server management which are designed to
help optimise performance and maximise availability. These tools, Capacity Manager, Software Rejuvenation,
System Availability, Rack Manager and Active PCI Manager, are tightly integrated with IBM Director for
consistent management from a single console.
The IBM Director Server Plus Pack license(s) can be purchased as a single license or in quantities of 20, 50
and 100.
• Included with your purchase, IBM Director 4.1, a powerful, highly integrated systems management software
solution, can help reduce costs through functions which are designed to reduce downtime, increase productivity
of IT personnel and end users, and reduce service and support costs. Customers use the same interface/tools to
manage and deploy their blade systems, as well as their existing infrastructure, which is far easier then using
separate sets of tools.
