If the unit is furnished with input power cables, the input power connections are made to the
receptacles matching the input power plugs furnished located in close proximity to the Smart-
Switch (typically within 3 feet).
The input power connections to the SmartSwitch must include overcurrent protection included as
part of the supply power distribution system. The maximum supply overcurrent protection for
each SmartSwitch input should not exceed 125% of the rated continuous current or as indicated
on the unit label. The maximum size overcurrent protection device (fuse or circuit breaker) for the
particular SmartSwitch used is listed in the unit ratings table (see Table 1).
The nominal voltage and frequency of each input source must match the voltage rating indicated
on the unit label. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in misoperation or damage
to the unit.
Severe input voltage distortion or large ringing transients, such as those caused by utility capaci-
tor switching, may be interpreted by the SmartSwitch as a source failure.
The SmartSwitch is intended to be supplied from two independent AC power sources to provide
protection against a source failure.
