LAN port LEDs
Each BSG unit has an LED that indicates link activity. Each BSG12ew/aw/tw unit has an
additional LED that indicates whether power over internet (PoE) is enabled.
BSG8ew Link Activity LEDs
Each LAN port on the BSG8ew/12ew/aw/tw has one LED that indicates link activity. This LED
turns on when an Ethernet cable is connected to the corresponding port. For more information
about the LEDs, see “BSG8ew link activity LEDs” on page 26 and the following table.

Link/Act LED Status Description
Green On The WAN/ LAN port is Link Up at 100 Mb/s.
Green Flashing The WAN/LAN port is sending or receiving data.
Green Off The WAN/LAN port is not operating.
Amber On The WAN/ LAN port is Link Up at 10 Mb/s.
Amber Flashing The WAN/LAN port is sending or receiving data.
Amber Off The WAN/LAN port is not operating.
Link/Act LED Status Description
Green On The LAN port is Link Up at high speed (1000 Mb/s).
Green Flashing The LAN port is sending or receiving data.
Green Off The LAN port is not operating.
Amber On The LAN port is Link Up at low speed (100/10 Mb/s).
Amber Flashing The LAN port is sending or receiving data.
Amber Off The LAN port is not operating.
