Cable connection
The following sections describe how to connect power, LAN devices, analog lines, and analog
telephones to the Business Services Gateway 8-port (BSG8ew) and the Business Services
Gateway 12-port (BSG12ew/aw/tw) and how to connect the BSG8ew and the BSG12ew/aw/tw to
the WAN and LAN. For the BSG12ew/aw/tw, the following section describes how to connect the
console.

Connecting power to the BSG8ew
Use this procedure to connect power to the BSG8ew.
Prerequisites
• Install the BSG8ew.
• If the BSG8ew is mounted on a wall, install the single power supply mounting bracket.
Procedure steps
Step Action
1 Rotate the retention clip so the power outlet is open.
2 Plug the power-supply cord into the BSG8ew.
3 Rotate the retention clip so that it locks the power-supply cord in place.
