Common Causes of Poor Performance
The most common reasons for poor scanning performance are listed below:
• Bar codes are not positioned at the focal distance of the imager.
• Specular reection is impacting the imager. Change the angle/position of the imager or the
bar code.
• Poor quality of printed bar codes. Bar codes are out of specication.
• The paper on which the bar code is printed is highly reective or has a glossy nish causing
light to be reected into the imager.
• The distance from the imager to the bar code is not suitable for the density of the bar code.
Or the density of the bar code beyond the imagers capability.
