Printer Configuration
Hardware Menu
Features in the Hardware Menu are used for software development/debugging and/or printer configuration.
These features should not be changed unless directed by Technical Support personnel.
Note: Factory default values are indicated by an asterisk (*).
Enter Hex Dump Mode
Possible Values: No*, Yes
This feature is used to assist software programmers in determining the actual data values being received by the
printer. In this mode, printer commands are not processed, but are printed along with their hexadecimal value.

Burnin Mode
Possible Values: Off*, On
This feature is for factory use only. Do not change this value.
Reset to Factory Defaults
Possible Value: Hold Power 10 Sec.
When this feature is displayed, holding the Power Button will cause all setup features in all menus to return to
their factory default values. Do not use this feature unless instructed by Psion Teklogix Technical Support.
Control Panel Setup
Control Panel Setup allows the user to configure some features of the PrintAbout. Other features may be
configured using the Psion Teklogix Mobile Setup Utility. For a complete list of features and which method
may be used to configure them, please refer to the
Setup Menu Summary on page 13.
Control Panel Setup makes use of the control panel Power and Paper Feed buttons and printing to step through
the menus of features and values that may be changed. Install plain receipt paper for this task.
Entering Setup
To enter Setup, press and hold the Paper Feed Button while turning on the printer with the Power Button. The
printer will print a test page which shows most of the menu features and their current values. At the end of the
test page, “PRESS FEED FOR SETUP MENU” will be printed. Pressing the Paper Feed within the next four
seconds will cause the Setup mode to be entered. If the button is not pressed within four seconds, the printer
will return to normal operation.
