A LOOK AT THE DISPLAY
The display has indicators that show the scanner’s current oper-
ating status. This quick look at the display will help you under-
stand how your scanner operates.
Appears when you lock the keypad.
▼
/
▲
Indicates the search or scan direction.
AIR
Indicates that the scanner is searching the air
service bank.
ALErt
Appears when the weather alert is on.
-b-
Appears during a service bank frequency search.
B
Appears when the batteries are low.
BANK
Appears with numbers (1–10) to indicate the
scan bank. Bank numbers with a bar under them
show which banks are turned on for scanning
(see “Understanding Banks” on Page 19).
C-Err
Appears when the scanner receives a checksum
error during wired programming.
CH
Appears with digits (1–200) or
P
to show which
channel the scanner is tuned to.
Ch-FULL
Appears when you try to enter a frequency dur-
ing a search when all channels are full.
-d-
Appears during a direct frequency search.
-dUPL-
Appears when you try to store a frequency that is
already stored in another channel.
