The Activation Wizard
TheActivationWizardguidesyouthroughtheprocessof
settingupyouraccount.
Therearetwomethodsofactivation:
• Manualactivationinvolvesyouphoningyourservice
provider,exchanginginformation,andenteringyour
accountinformationintotheappropriatefieldsinthe
wizard.
• AutomatedactivationinvolvestheMP595modem
placingacalltoaspecialnumberattheserviceprovider.
Muchoftheprocessisautomated.
Thewizardvariesbasedonyourserviceprovider,anditmay
bethatonlyoneoptionisavailabletoyou.
Tostarttheactivationwizard:
Note: If the version of firmware
on your MP modem is not
current with your version of 3G
Watcher, you will be prompted to
update your firmware when you
launch the program. This update
is important to ensure proper
operation of your MP modem.
The update may take as long as
fifteen minutes.
1. Start3GWatcherbychoosingStart > Programs > Sierra
Wireless
> 3G Watcher> 3G Watcher,ordoubleclickthe
desktopshortcut.
2. Ifthewizarddoesnotlaunchautomatically,selectTools >
Activation Wizard…
.
3. Onthefirstwindow,selectthemanualorautomated
activationoption(ifavailable)andselect
Next.
Manual activation
Thewizardadvisesyouoftheinformationyouneedto
completetheactivation,andthephonenumberyoushould
dial.Followtheinstructionsinthewizardtocompletethe
process.
Automated activation
Thewizardadvisesyouoftheinformationyouneedto
completetheactivationanddialsthenumber.Followthe
instructionsinthewizardtocompletetheprocess.
Step 7 — Test the system
Finally,testthesystemto:
• ConfirmthattheMPmodemcanconnecttoandtransmit
dataoverthenetwork.
• ConfirmthattheMPmodemcandetermineitslocation(if
youhaveconnectedaGPSantenna).
