TheGPSmodulesupportstwomethodsofreportingnaviga‐
tionalinformation,usingeithertheTAIP(Tri mbleASCII
InterfaceProtocol)orNMEA(NationalMarineElectronics
Association)protocols.TheGPSmoduleispre‐configuredfor
TAIP .IfyouareusingaGPSapplicationthatrequiresdatato
bereportedaccordingtotheNMEAprotocol,theMPmodem
mustbereconfiguredusingan

nostorednavigationaldata),itmaytakeupto39secondsfor
theGPSmoduletoobtainsatellitefixesandbeginreporting.

atomicmeasurementsratherthantheEarth’srotation,is
theequivalentofmeansolartimeattheprimemeridian
(0°longitude).
